Titanium aluminium nitride (TiAiN)
Titanium Aluminum Nitride (TiAiN) is a bright blue/black coating applied to knives via physical vapour deposition (PVD). TiAlN boasts a high temperature resistance to oxidising processes of up to 800 degrees Celsius, as well as an extreme hardness. This means it will outperform other titanium-based coatings like titanium nitride (TiN) and makes TiAiN ideal for high temperature environments where knives are involved in dry machinery with high feed and speed.
Nitron MC
Nitron MC is a tungsten carbide carbon which offers even better wear-resistance performance compared to the nitride coating of TiAiN. This extremely high performance coating provides machine knives with an ideal combination of a low friction coefficient, high hardness and high abrasion resistance to a temperature of 1050 degrees celsius. This makes this coating the perfect choice for highly loaded parts found in demanding machine applications such as gear cutting, milling and turning.
Diamolith™
Diamolith™ is a diamond-like carbon based coating placed by plasma-enhanced chemical vapour deposition (PECVD). It provides an excellent surface finish and smooth surface replication, along with a very low friction coefficient. Its dense and amorphous structure also gives it excellent corrosion resistance, making it ideal for enhancing and protecting cutting blades on medical instruments along with highly loaded machine applications.
